Airline Bag
To celebrate our first "What's Hot," we're offering a website exclusive not available in any stores. What's so special about this bag? Well, let me tell you! When I found the vintage automotive fabrics I was so excited. But I also dreamed of getting my hands on some vintage airline fabric as well. I remembered the amazing purple and orange desert-inspired textiles I'd see on planes as a kid, and other strange and colorful fabrics that were used in airline upholstery of yore. Of course, they don't use that anymore. Like cars, it has all become boring and sensible. I've even called the airlines to see if I could buy backstock fabric, to no avail. Then just recently, I stumbled upon this vintage airline fabric! This fabric was originally intended for use in a United Airlines plane! It was left over from a movie set, recreating a scene on a plane. How lucky is that! This gorgeous textile has a cross-hatched ground of grey and black. And check out the colorful graphics! Hot pink, citrus orange, sky blue and purple in a great geometric design. I about died and went to heaven! And you know it's durable. Trimmed in black leather. Nickel o-ring hardware, leather piping and straps, zipper closure, inside zipper pocket, lined in black..
